Okay...many of you know about Jerry's adventure on the track in Birmingham.

Bad Day (http://goroush.com/forum/showthread.php?t=942&highlight=jerry)

Well the rest of the story is that the car has been totalled. When it went to the frame shop they discovered that the frame was split in 4 places and some of the welds were broken...thank god he had all that safety equipment installed. It could have been fixed for just a daily driver, but won't be able to handle the stress of being on the track.

So...the "trash" pak has been stripped down to nothing but a shell and all the parts are being installed on a new 09 GT...funny thing about the 09...the window sticker said it was sold to Roush Industries!! :D Our local Roush rep has been in contact with RP and they will send Jerry a new serial # for the 09 because it is being rebuilt by Car FX who is certified to do Roush warrenty work. We are changing the # on the car to 101 instead of 99 since it will technically be the 101st track pak built ;)

Car FX is going rebuild the "trash" pak with a tubular frame and make it an all out race car for Russell...so those Shelby guys better look out when they come to Tulsa in June. Anyone who has seen Russell run down the competition in his non s/c GT knows what I am talking about.

Sorry about there being no pics...couldn't find my camera the day they stripped down the "trash" pak...but I will try to get some this week.

He is also changing the gears to 3:73 and adding a watts linkage...whatever that is

Love the title "trash" pak!

How does the saying go....when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

Thanks for sharing.

Sorry to hear about the incident, glad no one was hurt.

Does make one wonder although about authenticity of the brand and the car if one can take parts off of a wrecked different model year install on a newer model year and aquire an authentic serialized badge as if it were a factory built production car.

Back when we had our 98 Stage 3 Cobra...that is how it was done...nothing was factory built. Car FX is certified by Roush to do this work so I guess that is the difference between someone doing it in their garage. Plus it is not a done deal yet that RP is going to send him a new serial #.

Wow, Cherie... Even cracked the welds? Really gives homage to our design engineers since he was able to walk away... Thanks for the update.
