Has anyone gone the distance and actually bought this thing? I am about to buy my supercharger and have been leaning heavily on this over the old Roushcharger. All opinions and info are welcomed!:)

You got forged internals??

ps Here's the link to the COMPLETE setup - including the recommended short block w/forged internals which allows for a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.
Also, if you have the Roushcharger already, and do not wish to build up your motor, there is an upgrade kit for about a grand less...

i have the "old" roushcharger on my GT and if i could do it all over again i would still get the old one. there are some sweet deals out there on the old one so the total cost is just about half the $11,895.00 youll spend on parts alone. its hard to justify the extra $6 - 7000.00 for 50hp. save yourself a ton of money and get the old one with some exhaust work and and gears to make up any diffence in performance. ALL that said if you do choose to go with the R2300 you will have some sweet bragging rights!

It would depend on what Jeff (iraqvet06) is looking for... Not to disagree with a university professor, but I would only agree with you if he's looking for only the 510 hp and associated torque.
The $12k smackers associated with the complete TVS 2300 package includes the short block w/forged internals. You can take it up to probably 700 hp without serious issues from the block's stand point. You've seen the Saleen's in Erick's shop with blown engines (rods snapped)...
But I would agree with you if Jeff is only looking to be in the 500 Club. You can do as you suggest with the "standard" Roushcharger. That in and of itself is an understatement... Once it's installed and tricked up, whoa... In the few seconds it took a blacksmith to bring down that hammer twice on a horseshoe a hundred years ago, you can be going warp speed. :D

EVERYTHING about the GT (esp the driveline) is maxed out at about 500hp so to go as far up as 700hp would require a substantial investment beyond the $12k for the TVS parts - parts being the key word - in that labor will substantial. besides that you really have to have a hi-po shop you trust and 1 thats going to be around a while for the kind of build-up.

plus if you wanna keep that warranty i would bet money roush wont let you go beyond the 510hp- let alone up to 700hp.

Since the 15hp i got fr the "Roush CAI" on my ROUSHcharger was enuff to void my warrenty (no big deal to me tho) it was a pretty safe guess that 700hp wasnt on the menu. I know it has more to do with the fuel system being near its limits and the nasty things a lean condition can do to a car (BOOM) then anything else.

The build is done. The dyno results on a fairly cool morning resulted in a 504 rwhp average over five pulls. The big pull was 522rwhp in the average group.
I'm not sure what else to update you on other than the thing is a beast...BEAST.:)

:cool:Wow! So to make sure what you did, you went with the Roush short block and blower upgrade kit or a new blower all together? And can you clarify for us what your warranty is now with your new setup? Those are TERRIFIC numbers! :D:D
