View Full Version : New Mod
This mod sets me up for 2 more mods: I replaced the 27 lbs spare tire and 5.5 lbs jack etc… with the GT500 spare tire delete saving 27 lbs, with the extra room I will be installing a 27 lbs Yellow top Optima Gel Cell in the extra space that the tire delete left which is like transferring 54 lbs over the rear axle while saving another 6 lbs over the stock battery, this also will have the added benefit of pulling weight off the front which will help in cornering and the front/rear weight bias. Then it would look funny with the battery gone up front so rats I guess I will have to add a Snow Performance alcohol/water injection in the battery’s spot. My wife hates it when my ideas snow balls.

Dang, Lee, those are some great mods. I'm glad you're on this forum! :D
You just made me think - why should I have a spare and a jack at all? The spare won't clear the Baer calipers nor will the jack work with my body kit... My wife will be gone tomorrow afternoon - time to sneak in some mods...!
You can get it from Ford for $220.00 or order the Pump (Same Pump) from the Tire Rack for $79.00 http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/detail.jsp?ID=38 and then order the foam, straps for $29.00 from Ford.
Part No's:
(1) 7R3Z-19H364-A Container (Styrofoam Case)
(1) 7R3Z-19H366-A Strap

I doubt any more have the same opinion, but thanks.

I saved 12 lbs by swapping the Roush Off Road exaust to the Roush Extreme exaust plus the sound is awsome. I have removed 39 lbs so far, but it is all in the back which is bad, the reason the battery is going to be moved to the back. This is the Optima I think I will get: http://www.batteryweb.com/optima-detail.cfm?Model=D51-500&Section=DEEP%20CYCLE%20AUTOMOTIVE

It's nice to see what you're doing because it seems you're always doing something. I never would have thought to paint the lettering on my LCA's! ;) BTW, where will you run the battery cables?

Sorry if I confused you, Marc. I was being grateful he's shares on this forum. If he didn't share, we'd have to figure it out ourselves and I surely can't...
Lee, my Extreme Performance Exhaust was finally delivered to my fave speed shop Friday! Off come the JBAs and hopefully, not only will they add a horsepower or two but RUMBLE like Marc's Cobra! :D:D
Someone was under the impression that by posting my mods all the time that I’m bragging, not the case. I simply like to bring something to the forums that have worked for me, I have used ideas from other people to build on them and I hope others can see what I do and build on my mods. It is all good.

Lee, I don't think anyone's feels you're bragging... How'd you get that idea? Share away, dude! But don't let the Professor see your ideas...:):)
Some one kindly brought it to my attention, I explained that was not the case, but if one thinks that is the case there may be more. The fact is there are a lot of owners out there with a lot more expensive Roush’s than mine, and I see some owners adding 15-20K post sale. I just post so others can see what I do, not to brag, but be informative. Closed matter.

Lee, I'm still wondering where the battery cables will run?
When I moved the battery to the trunk of the Super Coupe I mounted the cable under the frame rails, I still don’t like that but with the SC it was the only way to do it. On the Roush I will be running the cable inside, on the How To section on the FnSweet web site there is a bunch of photos on installing the Steeda unit, I’m going to look at running mine on the passenger side though. If you want the “same” battery relocation kit as the Steeda just buy a Taylor because Steeda re-bags the Taylor and is cheaper. I will just buy the cable and ends and will mount mine in the spare tire section with no battery box, looking at a custom tie down. I’m wondering if we should try and get a group buy for battery’s?

Group buy? Now that made me chuckle... :) Unfortunately, I don't have the fortitude (or youth?) to route/relocate the battery. But I did find a buddy that had an extra inflator gizmo. Thanks for that one, Lee!
BTW, the speed shop's finally installing the Roush GT Extreme Performance system right now... I'm crossing my fingers it'll be better than the JBAs.

Just got back from picking up the car with the new Roush exhaust - it is awesome. No drone as advertised, it's loud, but not exceedingly loud for my two little kiddies. :)
They did their job; the President of my company heard me ah... drive back in after sneaking out! :):D
I got say " Told You So" :) glad you like it.
