View Full Version : New Mod for our Roush Mustangs
I just got the New Roush Extreme Exhaust, no mufflers, may be loud but that is the way I like'em. Does not void your Roush warranty.

Is this on their website? Power increase? Bolt to stock headers? Thanks

Hi. Thanks for the post and info. Must sound terrific! :D
However, I didn't see anything on the website about the warranty or emission certifications. Are you positive? I'd e-mail them myself but they still haven't sent me a reply to an e-mail I sent them a while back on packing and shipping problems. :)

I listened to the MP3's and just had to have it. I blew my warranty at 2k miles so not worried about that part. Since it is pretty much mufflerless I would assume it is not 50 state legal but it still retains the factory cats, at least from what my mechanic tells me.

You got some good info fr your mech. Anything from the cat-back is smog legal and has no bearing on your warranty ... wait a minute... how loud is it? There are some scarcely enforced noises ordinances that you may want to consider, not that I would! but you may.
Unfortunately one of the tips has a dent due to shipping, so I decided to wait and install it all at once. Some was talking about this exhaust over at FnSweet and said that the car accelerates much faster at the bottom, has no drone and another person will have dyno no’s shortly with this exhaust. I have it in writing that this will not void your warranty from Roush. This exhaust is now available from Roush on 09 cars. My Roush rep has it on his car and it sounds awesome.

dont get overly excited by potential power gains as you wont see that much. which is why roush doesnt make any claims of increases. which is reallya feather in the roush cap as they are pretty good about making HP claims and them being legit unlike others who promise wildly BIG numbers. i do think for $550 this set up will give back more hp/dollar value then some other more $$$ exhaust systems and the sound will be AWESOME!

Agree about the HP, it will be making around the same HP, just down lower, I was told that there may be 5 HP over the Off Road, but again it will be making HP down lower in the RPM's, without the drone and a deeper muscle car sound. But when I do want to finally void my warranty and do a COI and headers and X-pipe with a tune, I believe this is when this modification will work nicely with the other modifications.

either dont forget or rub it in that my car is 3500lb paper weight at the moment.
Thought I would post about my Extreme Exhaust now that it is on the car, the Seat-O-Pants Meter says I picked up power lower in the RPM range, the Sound-O-Meter says just buy this for the sound alone, it really does sound awesome. IMO money well spent.

Lee, the ol' wallet is now depleted some more, thanks to your seat-of-the-pants opinion... The exhaust system should be dropped off at Voss Performance on the Monday after Christmas. I don't know whether to smile or cry... :):( But I will definitely cry after my young wife cuts my heart out with a dull spoon. :D
Don't worry, Professor Holland... My pink slip will stay in my glove compartment and not migrate mysteriously to yours. Oh, wait a minute. The bank still has it! I'm safe!

well... i hate you for even being able to afford a new aft-cat exhaust system! i do think your love the roush sound better then your current jba axle-backs. i may have to get the bassani race pipes and dump my streets just to make sure you dont rumble deeper or louder then i do.
A dull spoon sounds like it could hurt????
The key to getting in trouble is not to tell them until the parts show up on the door step, no need in telling them more than one time as then you get in trouble only once, trust me as a lot of airplane and car parts show up at our front door, Missy just says now what have you done!! And I just say nothing that you care about, and she now just says we will see when I get the bill, it works for me.

your both very brave men (or crazy), but lucky you can cont to soup up ur cars. i think a heard a foot come dn on me recently so i have to take a chill pill for now.
The blower story is a good one but I have one better. One year while at Oshkosh I kept telling my wife after flying a new Experimental kit plane I was going to buy it, well for 6 months I told Missy I was going to buy that airplane, I got a bunch of yea right’s, sure you are’s, what ever’s until the day a Yellow Freight tractor trailer pulled up in our driveway and she said what is he doing, and I said the airplane that I have been telling you for 6 months I was going to buy, well it is here. Boy she was mad but I caught her laughing about it when she told one of our friends what I had done, all is good and she has not loosened the brake lines on my car yet, but I do check :)
Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Well, at least your wife can laugh about it. :) Dull spoons are my wife's weapon of choice.
