It has been a little bit since I posted here but I continue to have one thing after another go wrong with the Roush 511 FI engine in my cobra. It just got out of the shop 1 week ago and went back in today with misfiring and having trouble under acceleration. it just cannot stay running correctly. The car has only 250 miles on it and has spent 2 of the 3 months I have owned it in the shop. The mechanic and I were commiserating the other day that for 250 miles my car has had at least 4-5 oil changes because of all of the problems. I don't know what else to do anymore. I get 1-2 drives in it before something else goes wrong. Anyone else on here with the same motor having problems?

Roush was very fast in getting the warranty work approved and the parts there (pin in distributor sheared) but this is getting ridiculous how many things have gone wrong with only 250 miles on the odometer

What is Roush saying about your issues? Is the motor stock from RP without mods?

I know nothing about the engine you have. If it is FI'd, whose pcm is running it? Did Roush give you a base tune? Dyno tuned? Does your tech have a dyno? Might be time to find another mechanic, maybe.... You may have other issues beside the engine.

Thanks for the info, I will contact Roush. The motor is stock from Roush only having 250 miles put on it so far. I don't know whose PCM they are using. I will see what Todd has to say.
Thanks

The engineers are supposed to be in town starting tomorrow. Besides making the car run correctly, I am hoping they can come up with a filter system for it. It has been forgotten about with everyone else that has gone wrong with the engine but it still has no filter system for teh engine that will fit under the hood of the csx cobra.

Sorry for the time delay. Things have been crazy at work. After a week with the Roush engineer and a lot of tuning they ended replacing what I believe was the engine/fuel management computer, retuned it and it now runs like a beast! It has signifigantly more power than it ever has before so kudos to whoever the engineer was. It turns out they worked on all 4 of the 511 engines that had been sold here in Phoenix including the 2 other 8 stack engines (+1 carbed 511) I guess one of the engines is being pulled and sent back to Roush.

On another note, I have never received the plaque from Roush that was supposed to come with the engine. The dealer sent in the warranty registration a couple of weeks ago but I wasn't sure if the plaque would be coming to me or the dealer? Any ideas?
Thanks
Ron

It takes 2-3 weeks to get the vin plate, if the dealer sent it in hopefully they put your address on the form if not it went to the dealer.

It came in yesterday and I picked it up today. I am at work and don't have Todd's email with me. Can you resend it to revans@valleyo2.com?
Thanks
