Here is RP's answer:
"This one took some research.
I got two answers he will need/want:
It's a plastic protective cover. To remove the customer needs to get something thin under the plastic (between the pulley) to the point they can grab and edge and then pull towards radiator and rotate at the same time. It's easy to damage the plastic plug if they are not careful.
However, it is only a "beauty cover" to cover the steel input shaft. Since this guy sounds like he's throwing caution and warranty to the wind, breaking the cover (it is really just a Christmas tree-style plastic plug) won't really matter. You may want to tell him once we paints his new parts, he may want to paint the end of the input shaft as well since it will eventually rust. He does realize it is a press fit pulley right? If he plans to remove the pulley, he will want to use a three jaw pulley puller and index on the end of the input shaft. To install his new pulley, he will want to use a power steering pulley installation tool which threads into the end of the input shaft and "draws" the pulley on. Any other method to install the pulley will likely damage the supercharger and is NOT RECOMMENDED.
Be sure he knows that this will VOID the warranty on the car. In general, everyone I spoke with on this says the same thing - Not Recommended!"

Not sure if he is just planning to paint the cover or the pulley. I've pulled several P/S pulleys on the race car. There is a tool you can rent from Advance Auto, etc. $60, bring it back and you get all your money back. That makes it very easy. REALLY don't want to be hammering on the blower snout.

BTW Mine didn't come with a cover. Also noticed the pulley is different. 3 prong may be the only way to remove on 428R.
