Overall first impressions of my new Sterling Gray 427R are almost all positive. The handling of the car is far superior to anything I have ever owned with the exception of my 2008 Z06. The ride is very sharp but we are beginning to get use to it, it not a rough ride but a very sharp ride. The acceleration and the growl of the exhaust is very nice. The overall apperance of the car is outstanding, I added the 20" wheels and they are a very nice option. My car is an automatic, that's what the wife wanted, but it is still very quick. The interior of the car is very sharp looking but I am not really happy with the stereo. The ambiant lighting is very cool as well as the USB port and the Synx.

A few negatives are the finish on the barrels of the wheels are a very rough texture and very hard to wipe clean. The big brake package does not include the rear caliper, rear slotted rotor or braided brake line. The documentary on Speed made a really big deal about the Cooper tire research and that Cooper tires are the official tire for the 427R, my 427R has Dunlop tires. What happen to the official tire of the 427R. The car should also come with a rear tag frame. The floor mats are pathetic and should include the 427R logo not the cheap Roush logo. When you open the door you see the Roush on the floor mat and the Roush on the door sill, so instead of a 427R Roush Mustang you see Roush Roush when you open the door. So I guess I have a ROUSH ROUSH Mustang. Almost sound like a barking horse.

Overall customer service at Roush has been spotty at best. You really don't get treated like you just bought a $60000 Mustang. Its kinda like "we built what we wanted it to be and thats what it is." "It's perfect and if there is anything wrong with it its your fault." "If anything goes wrong we are going to figure out a way not to pay for it."

Roush is really not the company I expected. They need to be a little more user friendly and take care of their customers, because if they don't someone will.

All my friends said I should have bought a Shelby GT500.

They may be right.

Well glad you have somewhat enjoyed your new vehicle and glad you chose to go with a ROUSH product. Maybe they have just been overwhelmed with the new model build coming so fast or the orders/questions etc they may be receiving. That is typical with a generation change that there will be some lessons to be learned but give it a chance. Maybe you just didnt catch the right person on the right day.

As time goes on and more and more people jump onto the 2010 Roush train, you will be able to compare notes with other owners and please do share all of the technical knowledge that you gain from your experience with us so that others can know what to look for and maybe they have found a solution to the problems you may be having.

Give it some time and welcome to the site!

Look forward to some pics! I have a GT500 and it actually had a rear mud flap missing from the factory. Seems like none of them are perfect anymore. I have had 3 Roush cars and overall I am very pleased.

Will you drag race yours? I assume with an Auto & 20 inch wheels road track is not the planned use.

Welcome..
Rick

Your customer service experience has been with the dealer or by calling the 800 number?

As far as the tires go. The Dunlops were used while the RS3's were being delivered.

Anyway, let me know about the support thing. I'm curious.

It's by calling the 1-800 number. And I understand the tire developement but if you are going to do a documentary and state the Cooper is the official tire of the 427R wouldn't you make sure that every 427R has them. And if they are not ready when the car is released at least give a voucher or something to the owner so they can get a set of Coopers at a discount. After all 427R customer spend at least $14000.00 for the mods so shouldn't we get what we pay for? My total Roush sticker was $23000.00, shouldn't I get the advertised tires?

That's my beef with Roush.

The coating I mentioned on the wheels is another one. I show my car and I really want chrome barrels. Under this protective coating there is chrome plating. I removed the protective coating on one wheel and it was beautiful, so I removed the coating on the second wheel and found that the wheel had been ground with a grinder......... so no chrome plating. This the same wheel that had almost five ounces of weight in the same area as the grinder marks stacked up. I will post pictures later today. You know what Roush said............you removed the coating and you voided the warranty. So I bought two new wheels, one required .50 ounces to balance and one required 0 ounces, thats right 0 ounces. In checking all four of the original wheels on the car I found that not one wheel had less that 2.5 ounces of weight. So one would believe they put blems on the cars and sell for retail the good or "balanced wheels."

No drag racing, I really bought it to show next to my Z06 highlighting two different forms of the 427. The Mustang is a beautiful car and it looks great displayed next to Americas sport car.

A wonderful show car and cruiser for sure. I am thinking of 20s for my GT500.

Enjoy..

All of the 427's have had Cooper's on them except for the first few that had the 20's. Did the window sticker on the windshield say it was supposed to have Coopper tires on it when you bought it? A voucher might be cool for people who wanted Coopers.

None of the wheel barrels are chrome anymore because of warranty. Chrome doesn't stick that well to aluminum it's no secret. Roush doesn't put blems on vehicles and no two cast wheels are ever going to weigh the same amount in exactly the same place so there will be differences in the amount of weight used to balance the assembly once the tire is mounted. No two tires are the same either no matter what brand they are.

Nope no on the sticker but then again no tire brand is listed on the sticker it all list as 20 inch tire and wheel upgrade.

You can believe what you want about the blem wheels what I stated was just my opinion. I do know that no wheel and tire should leave any where with 5.50 ounces of wheels weight stacked on top of each other. And that excuse about chrome no sticking that just an excuse not to finish the wheel barrel. I have had aftermarket wheels on Corvette's and Camaro's with chrome on everything an have never had a problem with it sticking. So do you think when they chrome plate wheels they just dip the face of the wheel? So you are saying the chrome won't stick so they spray it with protective coating to make the chrome stick so if the chrome flakes the protective coating on top of it flakes too. Interesting! Do you work for Roush? If not you should...............you are very good at making excuses.

Wow!!! I was just trying to tell you what is real and maybe try to help you out if I could. Don't worry, I know exactly how the wheels get chromed...
I'm sorry you're so angry. On that note...

Welcome to the site, I hope your Roush experience gets better for you. If you ever come to Michigan I'd like to meet you.
