Of course everyone knows all about the ROEA Roush Round Up that Gary has done such a good job of putting together.

Here is some info on the entire week of Woodward Dream Cruise:

Ferndale: Where the dream began…and the fun is!

As the Woodward Dream Cruise continues to be a phenomenon as well as the world’s largest automotive event celebrating car culture, the city of Ferndale is proud to present the 15th Annual Ferndale Woodward Dream Cruise Weekend. The festive event will feature three days of family and automotive activities, along with live rock ’n’ roll entertainment for all to enjoy!

As part of the Ferndale excitement, Ford Motor Company, our exclusive automotive sponsor, will once again be at the center of it all when auto enthusiasts gather at Nine Mile and Woodward in downtown Ferndale. Ford will also have the largest presence of any automaker along the Woodward Dream Cruise route. Our additional sponsors are Motor City Casino & Hotel, Buffalo Wild Wings, Bagger Dave’s, Credit Union ONE, Team Mustang, WOMC 104.3 FM and C&G Newspapers.

The 15th Annual Ferndale Woodward Dream Cruise Weekend will be featuring our traditional attractions on East Nine Mile, including the Official Woodward Dream Cruise Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Ferndale Emergency Vehicle Show and Lights & Sirens Cruise, Ferndale Classic Vehicle Show, Legends of Ford and Mustang Alley.

On West Nine Mile, the “RetroFest” will feature Super Speed Car Racing and a Bungee Jump, along with an array of vendors. In addition, our expanded “Kids Play Zone” will include four Tim’s Toyz moonwalks, arts and crafts, face painting and temporary tattoos. On Sunday (8/16), the 2nd Annual Bee Hive Contest will create and showcase over forty unique hairstyles, designed by local metro Detroit stylists, and hosted by the Paul Mitchell School of Michigan, to raise funds for a local charity.

The Ferndale Woodward Dream Cruise Weekend, known for its live performances, is pleased to announce the return of three “Rock’n Live Entertainment” stages, to be located on West and East Nine Mile and at West Breckenridge and Woodward, featuring live classic rock and roll music.

The Official 2009 Woodward Dream Cruise Merchandise (posters, shirts, dash plaques, lapel pins, magnets, baseball caps and mugs) will be available on-site, throughout the weekend, located on East Nine Mile Road, behind Como’s Restaurant.

Our festive and fun event is not complete without the great taste and smell of the “Cruiz’n Food Court,” providing traditional festival menu items to enjoy while listening to the sounds of rock ’n’ roll at two locations.

In continuing the tradition of raising funds for local charities, this year’s Ferndale Woodward Dream Cruise Weekend recipients are FernCARE Free Health Clinic, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Team In Training - Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Ferndale Soccer Boosters.

Sounds like three days of having fun! I'd appreciate a fellow enthusiast or two to write up the who, what, when, etc., of what went on during the event for the ROEA newsletter. Photos, too.... with some names to go with faces or cars!

Thanks! :)

I will try and send you something when we get back. I will be only at a few things as my trip up is for a family reunion as well as the Roush Round-up.
